P0490 Exhaust Gas Recirculation control circuit | Circuit High | Intermittent. On my 3rd EGR so I know that’s not the issue. Engine management light comes on between 20-40 miles.

There is no expansion valve. There is an orifice tue. It is located in the inlet tube of the evaporator core. The Ford focus has a fixed orrifix in the pipe from the evaporator to the condenser .it is replaceable with a special tool. It does not have a mechanical expansion has such.
thanks, i took the intercooler pipe off and stipped the egr valve (unclipped the power cable, took the black plastic plate off and the section with the motor inside, i then pulled the valve back in the brass fitting and cleaned with WD40)i tried to clean inside the intercooler opening with a tooth brush soaked in egr3. i then sprayed the rest of the can through the air intake and i must admit
